Im a student and struggling with school finances as well as credit card debt, my paycheck mostly goes to school, what is the fastest way to pay off my credit debt.

I owe about ,000 and I only make about 00/month net. I started to default on my credit card payments. I plan to go for a non profit credit counseling but can any one explain me how exactly they work.
