   Try Pro Bono and/or Volunteer Attorney Services in your jurisdiction – many of them will handle simple bankruptcies for free or low cost.

   It all depends on where you are, because you want a lawyer who is local to you. Most laywers will give you a free short consultation to let you know what your options are.

   So what you need to do is search out several lawyers and arrange a consultation with each one. Trust your instincts and go with the one you are most comfortable with.
